UAA offers various types of financial aid to support students in financing their education. These include grants, which are need-based funds that do not require repayment; scholarships, which are merit-based awards that also do not need to be repaid; loans, which provide funds that must be repaid with interest; and work-study opportunities, which allow eligible students to earn money through part-time employment to help cover educational expenses.
Financial aid is typically disbursed at the start of each semester. If your aid exceeds your tuition and fees, the Bursar’s Office will issue a refund.
If your financial aid does not cover all of your expenses, you can explore additional scholarships or external grants, consider applying for federal student loans, or set up a payment plan through the Bursar's Office to manage the remaining costs.
To maintain financial aid eligibility, students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements, which include maintaining a minimum GPA and completing a specified number of credits. Additionally, students are typically required to be enrolled in a full-time course load to remain eligible for financial aid.
