University of Bari History

The University of Bari also known as Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro was established in the year 1925 in the city of Bari in Apulia region of Southern Italy. It is a state funded university and currently enrolls over 60,000 students. The university recently changed its name to University of Bari Aldo Moro to honor statesman Aldo Moro, who was a student and later taught Law, Colonial Policy, and Criminal Law at the university.

The University of Bari comprises of 14 major faculties offering undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level programs in Agricultural Science, Arts and Philosophy, Biotechnological Sciences, Communication Studies, Medicine, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Political Sciences, and Biology.

The University of Bari also has over 20 departments offering various research opportunities to the students and researchers in subjects like Business and Law, Economics and Mathematical Methods, Chemistry, Education Science, Psychology, Communication Science, Ancient and Late Antique Studies, Soil Sciences, of Plants and Food , and Letters, Language, Arts. University of Bari campus is located in the southern Italian city of Bari. The university campus offers a wide array of services to the students. The campus has its own Sports Centre comprising of an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, an ice rink, athletics track, football ground, and tennis courts.  The University Library a collection of over 1,500,000 books and 19,600 titles of printed journals.

The University of Bari provides on-campus counseling center, healthcare facilities, orientation and tutoring service, a dedicated international student desk, and job placement services to students looking for employment. Wi-Fi services on campus allow the students to access the internet through their smartphones, tablets, and laptops anywhere on the campus. The university also maintains two secondary campuses at Brindisi and Taranto.
