University of Basilicata, is a public university located in Matera, Italy. It was established in the year 1982. It is the one of the oldest university and most reputed university in Italy.

University of Basilicata, Prof. Vincenzo Riganti for the best degree theses on the subject: "The management of water treatment plants" was awarded a degree award. The University came up with the T3 Innovation where T3 innovation is the innovation and technology transfer structure of the Basilicata Region born from the collaboration of a group of companies specialized in the strategic consulting and innovation sector: PwC, Noovle, I3P, Reti.

The aim of the project is to increase the competitiveness level of the productive fabric of Basilicata through an awareness-raising intervention, awareness and enhancement of the Lucanian innovation potential, delivering strategic consulting services and providing innovative technological tools. The project is an integral part of the "Smart Specialization Strategy" (S3) of the Basilicata Region which has identified five areas of specialization as priorities: Aerospace, Automotive, Bio-economy, Energy, Cultural and Creative Industry.
