Academic Requirements

Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (typically 180 ECTS or equivalent), with the content suitability evaluated from official transcripts. Some programs allow application prior to degree completion if sufficient credits (e.g., 150 ECTS) are secured by enrollment start. 

 

 

Application & Deadlines

 

Applications for Master’s are submitted via CampusOnline, with separate intake periods:

 

Winter (WS): March 1 – July 15 (non-EU); March 1 – October 15 (EU/German).

Summer (SS): April 15 – July 15 (non-EU); April 15 – October 15 (EU/German), depending on program.

 

Deadlines and processes may differ for programs with restricted admission. 

 

 

Programme-Specific Requirements

 

Some Masters require a minimum GPA (e.g., 2.5 German grade average ~ “Good”) or completion of a pre-selection process (interview, motivation letter, etc.). ()

 

 

Language Proficiency

 

German-taught master’s programs: Require German fluency (TestDaF, DSH, Goethe C1/C2).

English-taught programs: Require B2 English plus (e.g., IELTS ≥?6.5 or TOEFL?≥?90–95), depending on program (e.g., Development Studies requires English B2 and German A1).
