The University of Bedfordshire was established in August 2006 following approval by the Privy Council by merging the University of Luton and the Bedford campus of De Montfort University.The University of Bedfordshire comprises of five campuses: Luton, Putteridge Bury, Bedford, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. The University of Bedfordshire is a public university situated outside of North London. 

The university comprises of four faculties and one school: Faculty of Creative Arts, Faculty of Technologies and Science; Faculty of Education and Sport; Faculty of Health and Social Sciences; and a Business School. 

The University of Bedfordshire has over 14,000 students (overall campuses), including approximately 10,945 students for undergraduates & 3,455 for postgraduates.
