University of Bonn Background

The University of Bonn is a public research university located in Bonn, Germany. It was founded as the Rhein University in the nineteenth century. The University of Bonn offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of subjects and has more than five hundred professors and thirty-two thousand students. The university library holds a vast number of books and it runs in millions.

University of Bonn Programs and Courses

The University of Bonn has a vast number of students and many of these are international students. Every year more than three thousand undergraduate students graduate. The university also offers about PhDs and many habilitations. More than ninety programs in all fields are offered. The university largely focuses on subject areas like mathematics, physics, economics, neuroscience, chemical biology, agriculture, Asian and Oriental studies and Philosophy and Ethics.

University of Bonn Campuses

The University's main building is the Kurfurstliches Schloss, the earlier residential palace of the prince-elector of Cologne in the city centre. Now it houses the faculty of humanities and theology and the university administration. The school of law and economics, the main university library and several smaller departments are housed in modern buildings near the main building.
