University of Bordeaux History
The University of Bordeaux also known as Universite de Bordeaux is a French university located in the city of Bordeaux. The university was established in 1441 by Pope Eugene IV eventually splitting into 3 universities in 1970. Bordeaux 4 was created out of Bordeaux 1 in 1995 and the newly merged University of Bordeaux was created in 2014 except Bordeaux 3 which did not choose to merge.

The University of Bordeaux comprises of four main colleges and three institutes which offer various degree and diploma programs. The colleges and institutes include College of Law, Political Science, Economics, and Management, College of Health Sciences, College of Human Sciences, College of Science and Technology, Institute of Technology, Institute of Education, and Institute of Vine and Wine Science.
The University of Bordeaux is also home to doctoral school offering PhDs in Private law and criminal science, Public law, History of law, Political science, Biochemistry, Bio-imaging, Bioinformatics, Cellular biology and physiopathology, Plant biology, Genetics, Information technology, Applied mathematics, and scientific calculation, Pure mathematics, Demographics, Economic sciences, and Management Sciences to name a few.

The University of Bordeaux has seven campuses in and around Bordeaux. They are Talence-Pessac-Gradignan campus, Carriere campus, Bordeaux Victoire campus, La Bastide site, Villenave d'Ornon, Agen campus, and Perigord campus. All the campuses offer a fun and vibrant student life with numerous dining, leisure, and shopping facilities.
