Established in 1850, the University of Dayton is a private Catholic research university in Dayton, Ohio. The university is established by the Society of Mary (Marianists). It is one of three Marianist universities in the United States of America and the second-largest private university in Ohio state.

Miriam Hall is home to the School of Business Administration. It includes team teaching, hands-on labs, and seminar classrooms, including the Davis Center for Portfolio Management, the Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and the Hanley Trading Center. Miriam Hall is named for Dayton philanthropist Miriam Rosenthal, who played a significant role in fundraising. In 2011, Stuart Field was updated to include intramural and club sports. In 2005, the University of Dayton purchased land and buildings near the western border of the historic campus, which increased campus size by 25%. The main building, Daniel J. Curran Place, is home to the University of Dayton Research Institute, Center for Leadership, classrooms used by Masters of Business Administration, School of Education and Health Sciences programs, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and the Alumni Center.
