The University of Giessen was established in 1607 and is located in Giessen, Hesse, Germany. The official name of the University is Justus Liebig University Giessen. It is named after one of their famous alumni Justus von Liebig. He is the founder of modern agricultural chemistry and inventor of artificial fertilizer.
