On the border of the Cotswolds, the greatest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the United Kingdom, are the three campuses of the University of Gloucestershire, which are located in Gloucester (Oxstalls) and Cheltenham (Park and Francis Close Hall).

Residence halls may be run by the institution or a partner. Privately operated, partner residence halls have rooms set aside for University of Gloucestershire students. The university does not oversee them. The agreements will be different from those for university-managed residence halls and will be direct with the third-party suppliers.
