University of Hasselt History

The University of Hasselt is a public university located in Hasselt, Belgium. It was established in the year in 1971 as the Limburgs University Centrum, In 2005, the university was renamed to Hasselt University. The University is one of the most prestigious universities in Belgium.

University of Hasselt Campuses

The University of Hasselt has two campuses. The first campus is located in Hasselt. Its campus has Vice Chancellor’s Office Building, the Faculty of Law, and many more facilities are provided. The second campus of Hasselt University is located on the campus of Dipenbeek. It offers several institutes for the applied research center, an incubator for starting a small business, and several small businesses and has a library.

University of Hasselt, Students WiebrigBerx and GirmaMamoWondesen of the bachelor/master mobility sciences at UHasselt have won the 'AXA Award 2019'. These awards crown the best master's thesis on road safety, mobility, and sustainability with social relevance, both nationally and internationally. The University Bachelors of Architecture and Interior Architecture students were awarded a Cera Award in 2017.

The University of Hasselt ranked 351-400th by World University Rankings in 2019-2020. It also ranked 65th by Young University Rankings in 2019. It also ranked 601-700 by Shanghai Ranking for Best Universities in worldwide in 2019. It also ranked 65th in the Times Higher Education- a ranking of universities younger than 50 years.
