University of Holguin History

University of Holguin was established in the year 1973. It is a public university which is situated in Holguin in Cuba. It is known as University of Holguin “Oscar Lucero Moya”. The first branch of the university was started in 1972 and the first course for which registrations began was engineering. Then began the registrations in the university.

University of Holguin Programs, Courses and Schools

University of Holguin is a renowned university and has got eight academic faculties. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate courses, PhD, master’s, doctoral studies and research programs. Speciality courses and international study programs are also offered by the university.

Faculties of the university are experienced and guides students in achieving their life and educational goals. Student to faculty ratio is low. University is known for its study in agricultural and physical sciences.

University of Holguin Campuses

University of Holguin has an urban campus with safe and modern infrastructure. Amenities provided to the students are dining, auditorium, halls, recreational area, athletic fields, fitness centre, campus store, book store, gardens and high-tech classrooms. Student clubs are there and students can participate in the cultural events of the university.

There are three academic libraries in the university. All are equipped with books, e-books, journals and manuals. Digital library, online catalogues and thesis and bibliography are along with study rooms and meeting rooms are available for the students and faculties.

University of Holguin is a well known university of Cuba. It has won many national and international awards like CITMS Student and Young Researcher Award, Cuban Academy of Sciences Awards and Third World Academy of Sciences Awards and has various publication in its name. In 2019, the workers of the university were recognised as the Personalities of Holguin.
