University of Kiel History

The University of Kiel is located in the city of Kiel, Germany. It was founded in 1665 under the name Christiana Albertina by Christian Albert.  During World War II, the University of Kiel suffered heavy damage, again it was rebuilt at a different location. In 2019, the university declared that it has a banned full-face covering in classrooms, citing the need for open communication that includes facial expressions and gestures.

The University of Kiel has 7 faculties such as Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Agricultural Science and Nutrition Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Engineering.

University of Kiel Campuses

The University of Kiel is currently undergoing a complete renewal. This renewal will result in State of the art research infrastructures. The Faculty of Engineering is coming up with a new research building, ultra-modern research buildings and new buildings for other faculties also being added to the campus on Westufer. Lecture theatres and seminar rooms are being upgraded to the latest technological standards, and a joint specialized library will create attractive working conditions for the students.

University of Kiel Achievements and USP

The University of Kiel offers Germany Scholarships to the students they offer funding of €300 per month for a year at all stages of their degree and in all subjects. To be eligible for these funding, students are expected to make outstanding academic and professional achievements over the course of their career. Half of the scholarship is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the other half is donated by private sponsors.
