University Of Leon History

Leon University is a public university based in Spain with a campus in León and Ponferrada. The university's germ was found in 1843 when the Normal School for Teachers or Masters Seminar of Public Instruction and the Veterinary Medicine Subaltern School, founded in 1852, laid the foundations for Leon's future university. Founded in 1979 as a split between the University of Oviedo and the different schools and colleges that depend on it, it existed in the city of Leon for a long time.

The University of Leon has eight faculties, six schools and two associated private schools. It also has the School of Languages and the Crai - tic IT Center, where the Calendula supercomputer is located. The University is also associated with the Castile and León Veterinary Hospital.
