Applicants must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area to the master’s programme they apply for.
In many cases, the bachelor’s degree must include subject-specific credit points in areas such as mathematics, linear algebra, probability/statistics, or computer science depending on the field (for example the MSc in IT Security requires knowledge of analysis, linear algebra, stochastics, and computer science of at least 60 ECTS).
Language proficiency:
For English-taught master’s programmes: proof of English at level CEFR B2 or higher (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) is often required.
For German-taught programmes: proof of German language proficiency may be required.
Additional documents typically required include: transcripts of records, certificate of graduation, CV / resume, statement of motivation, and sometimes proof of relevant work experience or project work.
Application deadlines: for many master’s programmes: 15 July (winter semester) or 15 January (summer semester) though these may vary by programme.
