University of Montpellier History

The University of Montpellier is a French public research university in Montpellier in the south-east of France started in 1289, the University of Montpellier is one of the oldest universities in the world. The university was separated into three universities the University of Montpellier 1, the University of Montpellier 2 and the Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3.

The University also organizes cultural events concerts, conferences, film screening, and exhibitions and promotes artistic production recording studios, workshops and more. There are 12 University libraries, 118 Association, 2 student centers, Over 30 Sports activities proposed to students and staff.

The degree of Doctor Honoris Causa gives French universities the opportunity to honor foreign eminent scientists who have rendered valuable services to science, literature and the arts.
