Entry Requirements:

A relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g. in performance, composition, pedagogy, musicology, or dance studies), or equivalent credential accepted under the specific aptitude test regulations  .

All candidates must pass a program-specific aptitude examination, which may include advanced performance, portfolio review, theory, or pedagogical components depending on the track (e.g. chamber music, dance pedagogy, Lehramt)  .

German proficiency: for Master of Music, A? certification is required by end of first semester; for educational tracks (Master of Education, MA Musicology/Music Education/Dance Studies), requirements differ and are specified in program documentation.

Additional Notes:

Master’s admissions may include extra pedagogical requirements (e.g. for Master of Education: proof of music?teaching practice or pedagogical credit points for candidates entering via school?teaching pathways)  .

Application is likewise via MUVAC, including essential documents: degree certificate (or current transcript), repertoire list or portfolio, CV, and language proof if required. A €50 aptitude?test fee applies .

Deadlines:

Winter Semester (2025/26): Applications for Master of Music, Master of Education, MA Musicology, etc., must be submitted by March 1, 2025.

MA Lehramt and other specific programs may have later cut?offs (e.g. MA Dance Studies: June 1, 2025) .
