The University of Oxford comprises of 100 major academic departments, with academic divisions such as Medical Sciences; Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences. Oxford’s academic calendar is divided into three terms – Michaelmas (fall), Hilary (spring) and Trinity (summer), each term is eight weeks long. As a modern, research-driven university, Oxford is constantly ranked the best in the world for medicine. Oxford is also ranked 2nd globally for its programs in Archaeology, Law, Medicine, Politics & International Studies, Psychology and Anthropology.
