Campus Architectural Design

Renowned architect Clorindo Testa designed the USAL campus in Pilar, Buenos Aires. The project includes an auditorium with a capacity of 600 people, designed not only for academic functions but also for various cultural events. The auditorium's unique design resembles a large mound, reminiscent of an ancient Egyptian tomb. ​

Endovascular Aneurysm Repair

Dr. Juan C. Parodi, who became a professor at USAL in 1993, pioneered the minimally invasive technique for repairing abdominal aortic aneurysms. In October 1992, he performed the first EVAR procedure in Western Europe, followed by the first U.S. procedure in November 1992. This innovation significantly reduced the risks and recovery time associated with traditional open surgery.
