Established in 1961, the University Of Sussex is a public research university located in Falmer, Sussex, England. The University has three Nobel Prize winners. It was a founding member of the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities promoting excellence in research and teaching. The university has 6 Nobel Prize winners, 15 Fellows of the Royal Society, 7 Fellows of the British Academy and a winner of the Crafoord Prize among its faculty.
The university comprises of various schools: School of Business, Management and Economics; School of Education and Social Work; School of Engineering and Informatics; School of English; School of Global Studies; School of History, Art History and Philosophy; School of Law, Politics and Sociology; School of Life Sciences; School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences; School of Media, Film and Music; School of Psychology; Brighton and Sussex Medical School; and Doctoral School and research groups.
The total student population at the university is more than 17,300 of which over 11,900 are enrolled in the undergraduate programs. The student to faculty ratio at the university is 16:1.
The University has partnered with Study Group to provide International Foundation Year, International Year One and Pre-Masters Program. The International Foundation Year program aims to fully prepare the student for starting their chosen undergraduate degree at Sussex, so that they can go on to achieve success at university. The International Year One program is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. Its aim is to fully prepare the student for joining the second year of the chosen undergraduate degree. The Pre-Masters program aims to prepare the student for studying a postgraduate degree at the university. The student will study a combination of core and subject-specific modules that focus on teaching the English language, study skills, employability and academic areas most relevant to your chosen degree at Sussex.
