University of the Bio Bio History

University of the Bio-Bio also known as UBB or Universidad del Bio-Bio is a Chilean higher education institution located in the city of Concepcion. The university was established in 1947 as Technical University of the State or TUS and was merged with Chillan Professional Institute to form the present day university.

University of the Bio Bio Programs, Courses, and Schools

University of the Bio-Bio offers 35 undergraduate programs in addition to a range of postgraduate degrees across 6 faculties. There are over 10000 students at the university out of which many study distance learning programs and continuing education.

University of the Bio-Bio offers subjects such as Architecture, Construction, Design, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, Health Sciences, Food Sciences, Engineering, Natural and Physical Sciences, and Mathematics to name a few.

University of the Bio Bio Campuses

University of the Bio-Bio has four campuses in total out of which the Concepcion Campus serves a s the primary campus housing university’s administrative offices. The three secondary campuses of Fernando May, La Castilla, and Andres Bello are located in the city of Chillan.

University of the Bio-Bio offers a range of services to students including the library with a large number of books, periodicals, and journals. The university campus also offers dedicated common rooms, study spaces, sports facilities, halls of residence, dining options, shops, and student union.
