University of Toledo History

The University of Toledo also known as UT or UToledo is an American university located in the city of Toledo in Ohio. The university was established in 1872 as Toledo University of Arts and Trades which was shut down after 6 years. The university reopened as Toledo Manual Training School in 1884 and subsequently conferred the university status in the late 1800s.

The University of Toledo is ranked 619th in the country in a report by Forbes Magazine. Wall Street Journal ranks the university 492nd nationally whereas US News and World Report place it amongst top 300 in the United States. 

University of Toledo USP

The University of Toledo is highly known for its research and development capabilities. The university is home to a number of research centres and collaborates with many universities such as the University of Ohio and Bowling Green State University on a number of projects relating to solar power and clean electricity.  

The University of Toledo has an acceptance rate of 94.3% which makes it a highly selective institution. The university also offers a number of scholarships to assist students with living costs and tuition fees.
