University of Toronto Scarborough was founded in 1964. The university of Toronto has its three campuses located in Scarborough Toronto, Ontario and Canada.

University History

In 1964 University of Toronto Scarborough was founded. Initially, the university was established as Scarborough College, a constituent college of the Faculty of Arts and Science. The University of Toronto Scarborough is located on a park-like campus at the eastern edge of the city. In1972, the University of Toronto Scarborough became a separate division of the University. University of Toronto Scarborough was the first college in the University to use credit system criteria and offered only formal cooperative programs. In 2000, University was granted the right to offer the programs leading to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree (B.B.A.) and in 2002 it started offering different programs in partnership with Centennial College. In the 2003, Summer session, University of Toronto Scarborough started working on a trimester system, which gave opportunities for year-round study.

Campus-

The University of Toronto Scarborough’s campus was described as a "mid-sized university campus". The campus is the smallest of the three campuses of the University of Toronto by area. It is spread across 300-acres of land, which forms the west side of the Highland Creek neighborhood in Scarborough. It is entirely covered by Morningside Avenue to the west side. The grounds of the campus expand to slightly south of Highway 401 and slightly north of Old Kingston Road. The campus eastern boundary is Military Trail while south of Ellesmere Road. The University of Toronto Scarborough campus is located in a suburban area, which includes residential houses along its eastern side and urban forestry on its southern and western side. The neighborhood's namesake river runs through the southern part of the grounds and its valley includes pedestrian trails that link the campus to nearby parks and neighborhood. Transit bus services by the Toronto Transit Commission, GO Transit, and Durham Region Transit connect the campus easily to nearby transportation areas.

As an international student, you will need to have specific permits and visas to study in Canada.

Initial Study Permit

All University of Toronto Scarborough students need to have legal status in Canada, and you will need to present your status documents to get your student card. If this is your first time applying for a study permit, you can do it at the nearest Canadian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission. You can apply for your permit as soon as you receive your Offer of Admission from the University of Toronto and decide to accept. Because the permit legally entitles you to study in Canada, you will need it before you enter the country.

Temporary Resident Visa

Students from certain countries may also require an entry visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), to enter Canada. TRVs are issued by Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC).

CIC’s requirements may differ depending on your specific geographic region. For instance, some CIC offices require proof of English language proficiency in the form of a standardized test (such as TOEFL or IELTS). A medical examination and proof of funding may also be required.
