University of Tours History                                     

University of Tours also known as Université de Tours is a French higher education establishment located in Tours. The university was established as Université François-Rabelais de Tours in 1969 after the merger of a number of smaller institutions and subsequently adopted its present name in 2017. It currently enrols over 30000 students.

University of Tours Programs, Courses, and Schools

University of Tours offers a range of Bachelor Degrees, Master Degrees, and Doctoral Programs across ten academic departments, schools, and technology institutes. Some of the subject offerings include Arts and Humanities, Advanced Renaissance Studies, Law, Economics, and Social Sciences.

University of Tours also offers programs in Literature and Languages, Medicine and Health Sciences, Computer Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Information Technology, Business Management, Psychology, Political Sciences, and International Relations.

University of Tours Campuses

University of Tours is spread over eight campuses in the city of Tours, France with the Plat d’Étain campus housing the university’s administrative headquarters. Other major campuses include Tanneurs, Tonenelle, Front, Grandmont, and Emile Zola campuses which house different academic departments. The university also maintains a smaller facility in the city of Blois.

University of Tours offers modern lecture theatres and classrooms in addition to well-equipped laboratories and libraries. The campus also houses numerous dining and eating options, student halls of residence, student union and refractories, computing facilities, sports courts and grounds, and bookstore.
