UW–Madison has adopted a test-optional policy through the 2024 admissions cycle. Applicants may choose whether to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of their application.

Graduate admission criteria vary by program but generally include: • Academic Credentials: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • Grade Point Average (GPA): A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on the equivalent of the last 60 semester hours (approximately two years of work) or a master’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. • Standardized Tests: Some programs may require GRE or GMAT scores; applicants should consult specific program requirements. • English Proficiency: Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test.
