Student life at UW–Parkside is vibrant and engaging, with over 40 student organizations for students to join, ranging from academic organizations like the Student Nursing Association at Parkside (SNAP) to interest organizations like the Anime Club. The Student Center serves as the hot spot on campus, offering the Den for food and fun, a cinema that shows a new movie each week, the Bookstore for Parkside gear, and Educators Credit Union for banking needs. The campus offers a variety of activities including intramurals such as kickball, flag football, and dodgeball, which are free for all students and provide a great way to take a break from studying, meet new people, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Housing facilities (Accommodation)

UW–Parkside offers a variety of on-campus housing options including Ranger Hall, University Apartments, and Pike River Suites. Ranger Hall is the most popular residence for freshman students, offering double rooms at $2,352 per semester, single rooms at $2,772 per semester, and super single rooms at $2,982 per semester based on availability. University Apartments feature 2 single rooms and 2 double rooms in each unit, typically housing upperclass and graduate students, with double rooms at $2,422 per semester and single rooms at $2,877 per semester. Pike River Suites is the newest residence hall, a suite-style community with two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites with private bathrooms for up to five students, with double rooms at $2,583 per semester and single rooms at $2,877 per semester. Inclusive Housing is available in all housing options for students who want to room with someone of a different sex, and students seeking specific housing accommodations must work with Student Accessibility Services.

Student Safety

UW–Parkside prioritizes student safety through the collaborative efforts of University Police and Housing & Residence Life. UW–Parkside police officers have the authority and responsibility to investigate all crimes occurring on campus, enforce all Wisconsin traffic laws, and work collaboratively with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the Kenosha City Police Department, the Racine County Sheriff's Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Officers conduct security checks on all university buildings and property, provide jump starts, vehicle lockouts, air for flat/low tires and 1 gallon of gas, escorts to individuals on campus, and a free engraver for personal items. Residence halls are secured buildings with all spaces accessible behind locked doors, and students must use their Ranger Card to access facilities; keys and cards should never be loaned or duplicated. The Campus Annual Security & Fire Safety Report provides accurate and timely campus safety information including crime statistics and procedures to report a crime, as required by the Jeanne Clery Act.

The Advising and Career Center at UW–Parkside partners with students to explore opportunities, work through challenges, make informed decisions, and create a plan that supports academic, personal, and career success. The Career Center has developed an annual Employer Sponsorship Program for employers who want to maximize their campus recruiting efforts and presence on campus to increase their exposure to UW-Parkside students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Students have access to online and on-campus resources including resume and cover letter reviews, internship and career fairs, position postings through Handshake, and employer brand building events. UW–Parkside was selected as one of only 16 institutions nationwide for Lumina Foundation's Campus to Career initiative, recognizing its commitment to career-connected learning, and 93% of Parkside students participate in internships, research, study abroad, or community-based learning.
