Victoria University Background:
Victoria University is a public research university which was first proposed in 1910 and received proper university status in the year 1990. The university is located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In 1958, the school changed its name to the Footscray Technical College. However, in 1990, it was established as a university by the Victoria State Parliament as Victoria University of Technology.

Victoria University Programs, Courses, and Schools:
Victoria University comprises nine colleges that offer more than 150 programs to the students. The colleges are: College of Arts and Education, College of Engineering and Science, College of Health and Biomedicine, College of Law and Justice, College of Sport and Exercise Science, VU Business School, VU College, VU Polytechnic College, and VU Research College. The university offers programs at different study levels like; TAFE, Diplomas, Bachelors, Masters, Postgraduate research, and short courses. Their engineering and computer science subjects also ranked among the state's best in the 2019 World University Subject Rankings.

Victoria University Campuses:
Victoria University comprises eleven university campuses such as; City Flinders, City Flinders Lane, City King, City Queen, Footscray Nicholson, Footscray Park, St Albans, Sunshine, VU at MetroWest (Footscray), VU Sydney, and Werribee. The university consists of the following centers and institutes; Institute for Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities, Centre of Policy Studies (CoPS), Centre for International Research on Education Systems (CIRES), Institute for Health and Sport, and more. The university has seven libraries across all its campuses. The libraries offer a variety of facilities and services including: WIFI access, individual study spaces, group study rooms, quiet study areas, printing and copying services, specialist software, PCs and laptops.

Victoria University was ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019 (and previously in 2017 and 2018). The university has the highest rating of 5 (well above world standard) in three research areas.
