The academy is located in the heart of Rotterdam at Blaak 10 and Wijnhaven 61. These two buildings are connected by an airbridge, with the monumental Blaak 10, a former bank headquarters, serving as the "home base" since 1981
All courses are officially taught in Dutch, but the academy operates with international classrooms. This means that whenever international students are present, teachers will speak English. It is still advised to learn some Dutch for daily life outside of the academy
You must apply through two platforms. First, submit an enrolment request in Studielink (selecting Hogeschool Rotterdam). After receiving your student number, you must complete the separate WdKA online application form. Your application is only complete after you have registered via both platforms
The deadlines for applying to the entrance exam are May 1, 2026, for EU applicants and January 11, 2026, for NON-EU applicants. NON-EU applicants can only participate in the first admission round, with a portfolio upload deadline of January 18, 2026
The tuition fee for 2026-2027 is not yet available on the website, but an estimate can be found on the university's link. For EU students, previous years' fees were approximately €2,143 - €2,695, and for NON-EU students around €10,684
WdKA offers the NL Scholarship for talented NON-EEA students with no previous education in the Netherlands. The scholarship is worth €5,000 paid in two instalments. To apply, you must email a letter of motivation and a financial statement to [email protected] by May 1st, 2026
The visiting address is Blaak 10 and Wijnhaven 61 in Rotterdam. The main building is conveniently located schuin tegenover (diagonally opposite) Station Rotterdam Blaak, making it easily accessible by public transport .
The academy does not operate its own student housing. Accommodation is the responsibility of the student. However, Hogeschool Rotterdam and WdKA provide guidance and resources to help students, especially international ones, find suitable housing in Rotterdam [inferred from general practice and standard information provided to applicants].
Within three years after your graduation, you are entitled to apply for a Search Year (Orientation Year / Zoekjaar) visa. This allows you to stay and work in the Netherlands for one year without requiring a work permit (TWV)
