The below information is required while
completing the university application :
Prerequisite Courses – Includes English, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Biological Sciences with lab components.
MCAT Score – Required and must be submitted through AACOMAS (valid for three years).
GPA Requirement – Competitive applicants typically have a 3.50 overall GPA and 3.40 science GPA.
Letters of Recommendation – Required from a physician (preferably a DO) and a pre-medical committee or faculty member.
Official Transcripts – Must be submitted from all previously attended institutions.
English Language Proficiency – TOEFL/IELTS required for non-native English speakers.
Technical Standards – Applicants must meet the physical and mental abilities needed for the medical curriculum.
Application Process – Submit AACOMAS application, followed by a secondary application upon invitation.
Interview – Competitive applicants are invited for an on-campus interview.

In 2008, WCUCOM was established to address the physician shortage in Mississippi and surrounding states. It received provisional accreditation in 2009 and welcomed its inaugural class in 2010
