Wuhan University of Technology History

The Wuhan University of Technology also known as WHUT and WUT is a Chinese university located in Wuhan, Hebei Province. The university was established in the year 2000 after Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Transportation University, and Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University were merged to form a single entity. The university enrolls 52,000 students and employs 5000 plus staff.

The Wuhan University of Technology has three campuses in Mafangshan, Yujiatou, and South Lake totaling over an area of 267 hectares and a built-up area of 1,100,000 square meters. The South Lake campus is located on the south of the Yangtze River which flows through the city. The university campus is home to a number of facilities like libraries, sports, health, food and dining, and accommodation.

The Wuhan University of Technology has also set up a Science Park in the region which is spread over an area of 59 hectares and has generated revenue of over RMB 1.58 billion. The Science Park has also fostered a number of start-ups and high tech enterprises.
