Zayed University (ZU) is a prominent public federal university in the United Arab Emirates, named after the nation’s founding father—Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It was established in 1998 with the initial aim of providing higher education to Emirati women; later, in 2008, it opened its doors to male students as well.

Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at Zayed University

 

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (or 2.5 for conditional admission) on a 4.0 scale 

English Language Proficiency:

 

For English-taught programs: IELTS ≥?6.0 (5.5 conditional), or TOEFL iBT ≥?79 (197 CBT), or EmSAT English ≥?1400; alternatives considered for native English degree holders 

For Arabic-taught programs: IELTS ≥?4.5, or TOEFL ≥?45 iBT (139 CBT), or EmSAT 950–1075; native English-speakers from English-medium institutions may also be exempt 

 

Additional Requirements:

 

Submission of required application documents and application fee (AED 420) by the deadline 

Process may include interviews, written tests, and program-specific prerequisites (e.g., work experience or preparatory courses) 

High-performing applicants may be invited for conditional admission based on academic or language enhancements .
