Zhejiang University is a public university which was established in the year 1897. The university is located in Hangzhou, China and is an elite C9 League university in Zhejiang province. The university is one of China's oldest, most selective and most prestigious institutions of higher education. It is also a member of the Yangtze Delta Universities Alliance and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. The University has Seven Campuses; Zhoushan Campus, Zijin'gang Campus, Zhejiang Campus, Huajiachi Campus, Haining International Campus, Xixi Campus, and Yuquan Campus.
Zhejiang University has seven faculties; Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Life, and Environment, and Faculty of Medicine. The university has 20 affiliated Institutes and Research Centres, 7 Affiliated Hospitals, and 2 affiliated Colleges; Zhejiang University City College and Ningbo Institute of Technology.
Zhejiang University has more than 45,678 students which include 23,302 Undergraduate students, 22,376 Graduate students, and Doctoral Students. The university has more than 8,577 Faculty members.
Zhejiang University provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The University Library is one of the oldest university libraries in China. For more than a century, it has been at the center of intellectual life on campus, enabling scholarship, and conducting interdisciplinary researches. It has 5 branches, 6 million volumes, and 3 million e-books. The university also has a Museum, Its mission is to support and enhance education and research at ZJU. Its educational activities include exhibitions, publications, lectures, conferences, film screenings, and live performances.
