What is the 'Tiebreaker rule' for the candidates with the same marks?

Posted on: July 19, 2022

The official answer key for the NEET UG is anticipated to be out very soon and will be available on the official website of NTA-

neet.nta.nic.in.

The list helps in figuring out the scores of an individual before the final results are actually out. Now many students might get the same rank, so how does NTA assign different ranks to everyone? Well, this is done through the Tiebreaker rule of the NTA. The following method is used to give preference to the student who has-

  • Achieved higher marks/percentile in biology.
  • Achieved higher marks/percentile in Chemistry.
  • Achieved higher marks/percentile in Physics.
  • Candidates with fewer incorrect answers than correct answers in all the subjects in the test, followed by
  • A candidate with the lowest proportion of incorrect responses to correct responses in Biology (Botany and Zoology) is the winner, followed by
  • Candidate with the lowest ratio of incorrect answers to correct answers in Chemistry, followed by
  • The candidate with a lesser percentage of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics, followed by
  • Candidate older in age, followed by
  • NEET application number in ascending order

What are the expected cut offs for the NEET 2022

Posted on: July 18, 2022

As the NEET 2022 was conducted on July 17th, out of the 18 lakhs registered candidates 95% were present. Now students are desperately waiting for the results to have an idea of the college they will get into. On the basis of last year's cut off, we can draw a rough idea of what the cut off can be. Last year for SC/ST/OBC and general-PH aspirants, the NEET qualifying percentile was 40th and 45th percentile whereas for general students it was 50th percentile. The cut- off usually depends on the following factors-

  • Number of candidates appeared in the examination
  • Total number of seats
  • NEET difficulty level

The candidates who qualify the cut off are then called for their counselling process. The admissions are granted for medical as well as dental colleges.

Guide to calculate your percentile for NEET 2022

Posted on: July 18, 2022

The National Testing Agency will soon declare the results of NEET 2022 and thus students are very anxious to know about the outcome. Your percentile decides what college you will be able to get into. In order to calculate your percentile you must know your score in the exam. Your NEET rank can be calculated even before the results are out by comparing previous year's scores and ranks with each other. So there are two ways to calculate your percentile. First one is -

  • NEET percentile = your NEET score * 100 / topper's NEET score.
  • NEET percentile = [(total number of candidates appeared in NEET rank) / total no. of appearing candidates who appeared for NEET in that particular year.

What to expect from NEET 2022 results?

Posted on: July 18, 2022

With another year a different bunch of students appeared for the NEET exam. As we know that NEET exams are very competitive and as compared to the number of applicants, seats are very less. So it's logical to have a plan B ready for yourself in case things don't work out the way you want them to. Private universities in India are very expensive and don't have that high ROI. In that case, what is advisable is to study abroad in countries like the USA and the UK. These countries offer you a high return on investment and not just that, they also offer a number of scholarships to students coming from Asia. Scholarships on the basis of merit and financial backgrounds are also offered. GoTo University specializes in the medical field and helps you in getting admission into the most prestigious universities in the world.  For more information, you can check the GoTo University page

Two universities of Alberta to increase international student fees

Posted on: July 15, 2022

The University of Calgary increased its fees by 10% in May which impacted around 6000 students. Now the University of Alberta which is home to 7000 students will be hiking its fees by 6% for the 2022-2023 session. While many universities in Canada have kept their fees stagnant to attract more international students to Canada after a couple of bland years of the pandemic, these two universities raising their fees is pretty surprising. By increasing their university fees, these universities would be impacting the number of students coming to Alberta or even Canada if we look at a bigger picture. Alberta already has very high university fees as compared to other states with the average fees ranging around CA$28,014 for the 2021-22 academic year.
