What is the new C-19 Bill passed by the Canadian government?

Posted on: August 01, 2022

The Canadian government has recently passed a new C-19 Bill that has attracted a lot of criticism from the public. The bill will affect the people applying for their PR and is likely to cause problems for them. Initially, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invites candidates for applying for the PR after which analysis is done and international students apply through Canadian Experience Class (CEC) for an after-study work visa. Candidates were selected through point criteria under which factors such as education, work experience, and language skills were taken into consideration. But under the new bill, IRCC has the power to handpick anyone of their choice and your scores wouldn't really matter. It's more like a need-based approach where certain professions may be given more weightage than others despite the low rankings of the individual. The selection is more likely dependent upon the labor requirement which people are finding very selfish of the government of Canada.

How to make your child read more?

Posted on: July 30, 2022

Some people really like to read and it comes very naturally to them but there are people who don't really enjoy reading that much. This happens very rampantly among young children. Sometimes the issue is about likeability and sometimes they find it very difficult to understand. Whatever the reason is, it is very important to diagnose and treat the problem as early as possible so that it doesn't become chronic. As a parent, you must keep in your mind that it won't be a happy fun time for your kid and tantrums or refusals are obvious. So it's important to maintain your stiffness and despite all the behavioral issues that you may encounter initially the reading must continue. With frequent intervals introduce new words to them and ask about their meanings from time to time so that they remember them permanently. Ask them to re-recite what they have read to a different family member for better memory. Include graphic novels to make the process more engaging and don't just stick to conventional methods of reading. Make them read things as per their liking for example if a kid is interested in sports., find age-appropriate sports articles that will fascinate them.

Will the rupee fall affect the study abroad situation?

Posted on: July 30, 2022

Recently the rupee hit an all-time low rate against the dollar by hitting the 80 figure for the first time ever. Since the beginning of 2022, the rupee has depreciated by 7% against the US Dollar. The craze for studying outside the country despite all these complexities remains the same. The hope for a better future is the main driving force behind so many students migrating abroad. After the pandemic, the number of students going abroad doubled. This is because taking an education loan has become much easier, visa processes are less complicated and the ROI on the education is great as students get high-paying jobs afterward. The US is still the most popular destination among students for studying abroad with 60% of the students wanting to study there. Rupee fall is beneficial for students who are studying already in the US as they will have to pay back in an appreciated currency. The movement of students is likely to remain oblivious to the fall in currency very much similar to it has remained over the years.

The newest addition to the list is Iran. The reason behind the visa rejection remains a question as there have been many instances where students have complete documents, good grades and funds with them but are still rejected. The refusal rate has doubled after the pandemic. Irrespective of everything the students' applications keep rising with every year. The visa processing period has also increased between nine to twelve week. Many say that the epicentre of this rejection is racial biases as the most amount of students that are rejected are from Africa.
