Many students who got accepted into the schools in the last intake got to know that the annual tuition fee for most of the programmes in these schools is around US$90,000. This is a lot of money for someone who comes from a humble background. Only the very rich segment of the society can afford to spend this much money on education.

In the past year, most of the schools have increased their tuition fees by 5% at least. Although

many of these universities have endowments that allow these universities to sponsor, partial or full tuition fees of a lot of needy students. But not everyone is able to secure an endowment for themselves. As a result, many parents have formed councils to question the legitimacy of such high fees. The total fee for a full time undergraduate degree can cost somewhere around US$342,000. In all these controversial circumstances, the Ivy League schools continue to justify their cost of education by saying that attending a college is a long-term investment irrespective of its high cost.
