You can work up to 20 hours per week. 

Q. Are there intern or part time opportunities for students in Acadia University?

You do not need a work permit to work off campus if you have a valid study permit that states you “may accept employment” or “may work off campus for 20 hours a week” AND you maintain a full-time, registered status in an Acadia program. If your study permit conditions do not indicate this, you will need to apply for a study permit amendment.

If you meet the above conditions, your study permit will allow you to work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions and full-time during scheduled breaks, such as the winter and summer holidays or spring break.

The Axe Yearbook

Every year, the ASU publishes its own yearbook, The Axe. The book is written and designed entirely by students. Candid shots of students, events, residences, clubs, as well as grad photos are all a part of the book – it’s a great way to look back on your amazing year! All students are encouraged to submit some of their favourite pictures for publication in the book.

Axe Radio

Axe Radio is back and at it again! The online radio station serves to benefit Acadia University, Acadia’s students, and the community of Wolfville by strengthening communication between Acadia and the community of Wolfville as well as inter-student communication. 

Acadia Graduate Students

The Acadia Graduate Students (AGS) is an Internal Organization committed to advocating for graduate student concerns at Acadia. AGS is comprised of the President and a faculty representative from Arts, Science and Professional Studies. The association also has counsellors at large, who can be involved but not as voting members.

Community Outreach Acadia

Community Outreach Acadia is a growing internal organization created and guided by students seeking to make positive and sustainable changes in our community. The club aims to engage Acadia students within the Wolfville community by presenting both spontaneous and long-term volunteer initiatives that will align with the interests of any student.

Centre For Global Education

The Centre for Global Education (CGE) was founded in 2007 by Acadia students. The CGE seeks to facilitate and promote dialogue between various cultures at Acadia through hosting cultural events and activities. These dialogues seek to increase inclusiveness, and awareness of different cultures within Acadia and the community of Wolfville.

What We Do

Union Market

The Union Market Convenience Store is a full service, one-stop retail outlet designed to conveniently meet your needs. The store is located on the Main Level of the Students’ Centre. 

General Services

Dry-Cleaning is a service brought to you by the ASU in conjunction with Vail’s Dry Cleaning. We are a drop-off and pick-up location for your convenience, with a $2 surcharge. The ASU is not responsible for items that are not picked up after two weeks.

Some event tickets are sold for upcoming events and activities that are hosted by the ASU.

Poster Service: A maximum of six posters for events can be posted free of charge on the bulletin boards within the Students’ Centre. Notices must be stamped and hung in the appropriate areas by the Building Manager on duty, or they will be removed without prior notice.

Cajun’s has been in business for over 30 years!  It is owned and operated by the ASU and is staffed by Acadia students. Every purchase made at Cajun’s goes back into the Union, funding activities, clubs, and services for all students.  Cajun’s is conveniently located on the Main Level of the Student’s Centre. It provides a wide variety of Acadia gear and custom goods.

Food Cupboard

The ASU Food Cupboard was founded to give Acadia University students access to emergency food services on campus. This new resource provides emergency food support to any student along with miscellaneous living supplies such as toilet paper and feminine hygiene products.
