Infrastructure & Facilities at Alabama State University

Alabama State University’s general infrastructure includes a comprehensive wireless broadband network across the entire campus and a hybrid cloud infrastructure to host virtual labs, distance learning environments, and enhanced student experience applications. The university is proceeding with a $77 million student housing expansion, with new apartment complexes being built on Forest Avenue and University Drive to accommodate approximately 552 beds. The campus features 13 residence halls with approximately 2,261 student beds, offering semiprivate and private accommodations with community living spaces that include study rooms, television lounges, activity rooms, and laundry facilities. The John Garrick Hardy Student Services Center is an 81,000-square-foot facility that serves as a hub for student activity, with a food court, movie theatre, cyber café, and offices for Financial Aid, Admissions, Records and Registration, and Student Accounts. The Levi Watkins Learning Center encompasses 147,800 square feet of space, housing multimedia learning resources to support teaching, research, scholarship, and cultural activities.

Alabama State University offers a vibrant campus life with more than 50 student clubs and organizations, including sororities and fraternities, to help students get involved and make new friends. The Office of Student Life, located in the John Garrick Hardy Student Services Center, seeks to enhance students’ collegiate experience through leadership experiences, year-round advisement, personal development seminars, and executive board trainings. Students can participate in intramural leagues ranging from volleyball and flag football to cardio kickboxing aerobics, or join the Gaming and E-Sports Laboratory and Recreational Center, which is outfitted with $90,000 of equipment. The university hosts a weeklong Homecoming celebration in October, packed with performances, block parties, alumni get-togethers, and other events. Step-by-Step Guide to Admission Requirements at Alabama State University

The below information is required while
completing the university application :

1. Apply online and pay the $30 application fee.

2. Submit an official high school transcript (and final transcript after graduation).

3. ACT or SAT is optional (test-optional).

4. Full admission (Tier I) uses a GPA and test-score sliding scale: 2.00–2.49 GPA requires 18 ACT or 940–970 SAT; 2.50–2.99 GPA requires 17 ACT or 900–930 SAT; 3.00–3.49 GPA requires 16 ACT or 860–890 SAT.

5. If you do not meet Tier I, you may qualify for Tier II or Tier III Summer Bridge Program with lower GPA and test combinations.

6. After admission: complete FAFSA (ASU code 001005), apply for housing, register for orientation, submit health form, and apply for scholarships.

7. Check the ASU website for current deadlines, since they change by term.
