Alabama State University’s general infrastructure includes a comprehensive wireless broadband network across the entire campus and a hybrid cloud infrastructure to host virtual labs, distance learning environments, and enhanced student experience applications. The university is proceeding with a $77 million student housing expansion, with new apartment complexes being built on Forest Avenue and University Drive to accommodate approximately 552 beds. The campus features 13 residence halls with approximately 2,261 student beds, offering semiprivate and private accommodations with community living spaces that include study rooms, television lounges, activity rooms, and laundry facilities. The John Garrick Hardy Student Services Center is an 81,000-square-foot facility that serves as a hub for student activity, with a food court, movie theatre, cyber café, and offices for Financial Aid, Admissions, Records and Registration, and Student Accounts. The Levi Watkins Learning Center encompasses 147,800 square feet of space, housing multimedia learning resources to support teaching, research, scholarship, and cultural activities.
