Algoma University, established in 1965 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, began as an affiliate of Laurentian University. In 2008, it gained independence, becoming a standalone institution. The university is dedicated to cross-cultural learning, particularly between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, given its location on the former site.

b) Applicants from India, Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria or Mauritius who do not currently live in Canada must apply through the Canadian University Application Centre (CUAC).

g) TOEFL/IELTS scores if the applicant’s native language is not English 

h) TOEFL: IBT- minimum overall score of 79-80; IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 bands (with no bands less than 6.0); PTE: minimum overall score of 63; CAEL: minimum overall score of 60.
