Everything You Need to Know About Application Requirements at American University in the Emirates

Academic Requirements:

AUE requires an original Bachelor’s degree and transcript, authenticated by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.

A minimum CGPA of 3.0 / 4.0 is required for full admission.

Applicants with CGPA between 2.0 and 2.99 may receive conditional or probationary admission. Those below 3.0 must achieve CGPA 3.0 in the first semester (up to 9 credit hours) or complete remedial courses as specified.

English Language Proficiency:

For English-taught programs:

TOEFL ITP: 550+

TOEFL iBT: 79+

IELTS (Academic): 6.0+

EmSAT English: 1400+

For Arabic-taught programs (e.g., Law):

TOEFL ITP: 500+

TOEFL iBT: 61+

IELTS (Academic): 5.0+

EmSAT English: 1100+

MBA applicants must submit a valid GRE score or will be conditionally admitted and required to take the GRE within the first semester.

An entry interview is required for all graduates.
