In 1895, Aston University was founded as the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, and in 1956, it became the UK's first College of Advanced Technology. After receiving its Royal Charter on April 22, 1966, and the appointment of Lord Nelson as its first Chancellor, it became the University of Aston in Birmingham.

   The Aston University campus is located on a 60-acre area of land near Gosta Green, Birmingham, England.
