Established in 1895, the Aston University is one of the leading public research university located in Gosta Green, in the city centre of Birmingham, England. Aston was ranked in the top 33 universities in the UK by all three major league tables. It also received recognition from Times Higher Education for the second best teaching quality in the UK.

The university consists of 5 different schools such as School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Life and Health Sciences, School of Languages and Social Sciences, Aston Business School and Aston Medical School. Free modern language tuition is offered to all eligible first year fee-paying Aston undergraduates to support global awareness and language skills. Options include French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic and Japanese. The majority of programmes at Aston have an optional or compulsory professional placement year in business or industry. Approximately 75% of students at Aston University avail this opportunity.
