What are the English language requirements for international students?

Avans requires a recent statement (no older than 2 years) of working knowledge of the English language with an overall IELTS band score of at least 6.0. Other accepted tests include TOEFL or Cambridge English qualifications

What is the intake procedure for non-EEA students?

For non-EEA students, the intake is mandatory and includes a motivational interview in preparation for the visa application. This interview takes place online, and the advice following it is binding—a negative advice will lead to rejection of your application at Avans

What are the application deadlines?

Application deadlines vary by student type. For non-EEA students starting in September, the deadline is 1 May. For exchange and Erasmus students starting in September, the deadline is 15 April. EEA students with a non-Dutch diploma must apply by 31 August

What are the tuition fees for international students?

Does Avans provide student housing?

Avans University of Applied Sciences does not own student accommodation. Instead, they have partnered with housing associations in Breda (Alwel & Wonen BreBurg) and Tilburg (CobbenCampus). A limited number of furnished rooms are available for first-year and exchange students of specific programmes on a first-come, first-serve basis

What are the costs and conditions for furnished rooms?

Rental prices for furnished rooms range from €450 to €750 per month, including water, electricity, gas, and internet. Rooms are fully furnished but shared (private bedroom, shared kitchen/bathroom). Rent must be paid per full semester (approximately 5 months, totalling €3500-€4000) at once when signing the rental agreement

Can I stay in the Netherlands after graduation to find work?

Students are allowed to stay in the country for one year after graduation to look for a job. To do this, you need to extend your student visa or apply for a job seeker visa (zoekjaar)
