Bangladesh Agricultural University is situated in Mymensingh, approximately 120 kilometers north of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The campus spans about 1,200 acres on the western bank of the old Brahmaputra River, offering a tranquil and conducive environment for academic pursuits. The location provides students with a blend of rural serenity and proximity to urban amenities, facilitating both focused study and recreational activities. The university's strategic position allows for easy access to various agricultural research centers and institutions in the region. ​
BAU offers on-campus housing through its 13 halls of residence, with nine designated for male students and four for female students. These halls provide basic amenities to ensure a comfortable living experience. For international students, on-campus accommodation is available but limited; therefore, some students opt to stay in rented private apartments near the university. The estimated living cost, including accommodation, food, and other expenses, is approximately $100 per month. Students are encouraged to apply for housing early due to the limited number of seats available in the halls
