Egyptian applicants need a Thanaweya Amma (high school diploma) and must meet the minimum score thresholds set annually by the Supreme Council of Universities, with competitive programs like Medicine, Engineering, and Pharmacy requiring higher marks 

International applicants must present equivalent secondary credentials (e.g., IB, IGCSE, American diploma) with required subject combinations—typically including English, Math, Physics, Chemistry—and meet faculty-specific grade requirements 

Students must submit key documents: official transcripts, application form, passport copy, medical certificate, passport photos, and for some faculties, proof of language proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS) .

A medical exam is mandatory to confirm fitness for university study 

Applicants for selective faculties may undergo entrance exams or qualifying tests, as determined by university regulations .

Admissions occur once for the September–October semester (via the national Tansik system for Egyptian students), with international applicants applying directly through the Central Administration for International Students
