Every year, Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) accept about 200 students into our BM BS degree program. With one of the highest application rates of any UK medical school in recent admissions rounds, BSMS has shown to be incredibly popular. At Falmer, students spend the majority of their first two years on university campuses. In every department, we have specially designed instructional facilities. Early clinical involvement, a wide breadth of experience, and a solid basis in basic science are all emphasized in the curriculum. Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) are not dedicated to a single delivery technique and, under the direction of the Department of Medical Education, use a variety of teaching and learning strategies as needed for the specific situation.
First and second year classes will mostly be taught at the Falmer campuses of the Universities of Sussex and Brighton. Accommodations will be provided to you as a first-year medical student. However, you must apply for university residences before the deadline in late June 2025 and prioritize BSMS when confirming spots with UCAS. Living with students from around the world who are pursuing a variety of courses will allow you to be a part of a vibrant, stimulating, and international student community. After being assigned to one of the residence halls at the University of Sussex or the University of Brighton, BSMS students will be able to rate their preferences for housing.

International applicants to the undergraduate medical program at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) must fulfill certain academic and English language criteria in addition to taking the UCAT. First-year students at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) are guaranteed a room at either the institution of Brighton or the University of Sussex, which is run by the institution. Varley Park (University of Brighton), Lewes Court, Brighthelm Houses (shared bathrooms), and Northfield apartments (en suite, University of Sussex) are among the options available to students. Self-catering lodging is available, featuring single rooms with the choice of shared or en suite bathrooms.
