Document requirements for admission into a Master’s program at Cairo University:
Bachelor’s Degree & Academic Transcripts (Originals)
You must submit your original bachelor’s degree certificate and the full academic transcript. For non-Egyptian or private university graduates, an equivalency certificate from the Supreme Council of Universities is required
Proof of Birth & National ID / Passport
Provide a computerized birth certificate and a copy of your national ID (for Egyptians) or passport (for international applicants)
Recent Passport-Size Photographs
Typically four (sometimes six) recent ID photos (e.g., 4×6 cm) are needed, pasted or attached as specified by the faculty
Military Service Status (For Males, Egyptians Only)
Male Egyptian students must submit proof of military service status—either completed, postponed, or exempted
English Language Proficiency Certificate
Master’s applicants must pass TOEFL (typically ≥550) or IELTS (usually ≥6.0). Certain programs may accept TOEFL PBT 580/CBT 230/iBT 92 instead
Additional Program-Specific Documents
For some faculties (e.g., Economics, Sciences), a GRE score may be required
You may need to include a CV, statement of purpose or research proposal, and recommendation letters (usually 2–3)
International applicants must submit degree equivalence, embassy endorsement, medical certificates (HIV-free), health insurance proof, and a student visa
