Richard Storm was not a traditional student when he enrolled at Cameron University in the early 1970s. A member of the U.S. Army, Storm was assigned to Fort Sill, following a tour of duty in Vietnam that saw him honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism on two occasions, as well as more than 25 other commendations. Student life at Cameron University is characterized by a small campus and dedicated faculty who ensure there is always someone close by to guide students on their journey. The university has a total undergraduate enrollment of 3,307 (fall 2024), with 14% of students living in college-owned, operated, or affiliated housing and 86% living off campus. The campus is described as beautiful and full of friendly people, with many international students enjoying the experience of American university life as well as athletics. Cameron University is unique and affordable, providing students with financial aid, scholarships, and plenty of opportunities for on-campus employment.
Cameron University's athletic facilities consist of the Aggie Gym, Cameron Softball Field, McCord Baseball Field, and CU Tennis Complex, with all events free to the public except basketball and volleyball, and CU students always admitted for free with a valid Cameron University ID. The Aggies are proud members of both NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference and compete in ten intercollegiate sports: men's baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and tennis; women's softball, basketball, volleyball, golf, and tennis. The Aggie Rec Center is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility which has a gym for basketball, volleyball and other team activities, four racquetball courts, strength and cardio equipment, and an elevated walking/jogging track. The university also offers football, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 basketball, bowling, golf, soccer, and dodgeball through the Fitness Center.


Cameron University’s career support is delivered through a structured, multi-stage framework called CU Advance, which is the university’s Career Pathway Project. CU Advance connects students to a network of employers, opportunities, and resources, guiding them through four progressive stages: Career Awareness, where students take major-related courses and meet with the Student Enrichment Center (SEC) for career assessments; Career Understanding, which includes industry tours and job shadowing through academic departments and the SEC; Career Knowledge, where students meeting departmental standards are encouraged to complete internships during their junior or senior year, with research projects also available in most degree programs; and Career Readiness, which focuses on resume building, interview preparation, and attending on-campus career fairs
The below information is required while
completing the university application :
1. Application and fee: Submit the online application with a $20 nonrefundable fee.
2. Passport: Provide a copy of the biographical page of a valid passport (valid at least 6 months beyond program start).
3. English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 61, IELTS 5.5, PTE 44, or iTEP 3.5. Waivers available for degree holders from English speaking countries or those who completed a two year post secondary program there.
4. Transcripts: Submit certified secondary school transcripts and final certificate with English translation. Non U.S. transcripts require a course by course evaluation. All institutions attended must be listed; students with 24+ university credits need not submit high school transcripts.
5. Standardized tests: SAT/ACT not required if applicant is 21+ or has 24+ university credits. Placement testing required if SAT ≤960 or ACT ≤18.
6. Financial support: Certify sufficient funds for the first year. Additional $10,000 for a spouse and $6,000 per child. Acceptable sources: bank accounts, CDs, money market, scholarships. Statements must be dated within 6 months of term start.
7. Affidavit of financial support: Signed by sponsor, agreeing to pay all costs. Submit with proof of guaranteed funds.
8. Official documents: Must come directly from the source (school, bank, test center) in a sealed envelope or via official email. Documents sent by the student are not official.
9. Deadlines: Recommended submission by June for fall, November for spring.
10. Credential evaluation: Required from an approved agency (WES, ECE, TEC) for non U.S. transcripts.

The Student Enrichment Center offers academic coaching, workshops, and skills development in personal finances and workplace readiness, while the Office of Student Development coordinates Career Services, Disability Services, Inclusion and Student Success, and Judicial Affairs.

Cameron University has been recognized for its support of military veterans through inclusion on the Military Times "Best for Vets: Colleges" list for the fifth consecutive year. One of the most important benefits is CU certification as a Yellow Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for waiving the remaining tuition not covered by the Post-9/11 GI bill for eligible students.
