Student Support

The Eugene D. McMahon Library at Cameron University supports the learning needs of the Cameron community by connecting students, faculty, staff, and community members to information resources and services. The library contains over 150,000 print volumes of information and provides access to over 97,000 electronic books, over 29 databases, and over 10,000 educational films online. The library houses comfortable work areas, a fully equipped computer lab, and a group of friendly staff members trained to assist patrons with their library needs. Services available include study rooms, carrels, and desks on both floors, a Digital Media Lab offering computers with the full Adobe Suite, 3D printers, camera check-out, two computer labs with free black and white printing, and interlibrary loan services.

Student Life

Cameron University's athletic facilities consist of the Aggie Gym, Cameron Softball Field, McCord Baseball Field, and CU Tennis Complex, with all events free to the public except basketball and volleyball, and CU students always admitted for free with a valid Cameron University ID. The Aggies are proud members of both NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference and compete in ten intercollegiate sports: men's baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and tennis; women's softball, basketball, volleyball, golf, and tennis. The Aggie Rec Center is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility which has a gym for basketball, volleyball and other team activities, four racquetball courts, strength and cardio equipment, and an elevated walking/jogging track. The university also offers football, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 basketball, bowling, golf, soccer, and dodgeball through the Fitness Center.

Career support at Cameron University is provided through CU Advance, the university's Career Pathway Project, which connects students to an established network of employers, opportunities, and resources that help advance their careers. CU Advance guides students through specific career preparation stages including Career Awareness, Career Understanding, Career Knowledge, and Career Readiness, with industry tours and job shadowing opportunities offered through each academic department and the Student Enrichment Center. Students who meet departmental standards are encouraged to incorporate an internship within their junior or senior year, and research projects are also offered in most degree programs. The university hosts the annual Red River Career Expo, which provides participating companies with the opportunity to recruit new employees, interns, and volunteers, and the Connect on Campus event allows Cameron Aggies to meet with local professionals and expand their career horizons. Cameron University has also initiated a partnership with Handshake, a career platform where employers can connect with students, and the university's Career Services assists students and alumni in achieving their career goals by providing excellent career-related resources, programs, services, and opportunities.

The university's governing board is The Board of Regents for The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University, and Rogers State University. Cameron University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has a Space-grant affiliation. The university's athletic teams, known as the Aggies, are a member of Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Lone Star Conference.
