Academic Qualifications
Applicants must hold a valid high school certificate recognized by a country’s public university system and with at least 12 years of schooling. Equivalent or international certificates require an Equivalency Certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education.
English Language Proficiency
Standard Requirement: IELTS Academic 5.0, TOEFL iBT 61, or TOEFL ITP 500.
Exemptions:
UAE MOE Advanced track: minimum 80% in high school English.
Curricula taught in English: proof of instruction in English may suffice.
Non-English curricula: must provide an approved test score or complete a remedial English program.
Creative Industries applicants: slightly higher IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 71, or ITP 530 are required.
Placement Requirements
Math Placement Test required for most programs, except BA Communication, BA Psychology, and Creative Industries—or if the student has a UAE high school Math score ≥70% or SAT Math ≥450.
Failing the test results in conditional admission and enrolment in a remedial Math course; students cannot register for advanced math/stat courses until completion.
Program-Specific Criteria (e.g., Engineering)
UAE System: ≥80% in Math, Physics, and one Science (Biology or Chemistry).
American System: Completion of Grades 9–12 and ≥80% in Math, Physics, and a Science.
British System: Year 13 with:
≥C grade in Maths (O-Level/AS/A-Level),
≥C in Physics,
≥C in Science (O-Level) or “D” in AS/A-Level.
IB Diploma: Minimum of 24 points with Math, Physics, and Science scores ≥4.
