Canadore College was founded in 1967 as a part of Sudbury Cambrian College. It became an individual institution in 1972.

University History

In 1967 Canadore College was founded. The college approaches education in a different way which is based on the motto that balance between academics and practical experience is important as it prepares students for their better future and can face the challenges of the workplace. It is a small, government-funded college situated in the City of North Bay, in the province of Ontario, Canada. There are three campuses located in the North Bay region. Every year, nearly 5,600 full time students enroll for more than 80 different diploma programs, and approximately 3,000 students attend part-time courses. Canadore's diploma programs are officially accredited by the provincial Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

Canadore College North Bay campuses are spread across 650 acres of land. The campus offers students residence on-campus as well as assistance in finding accommodation nearby the college. The campus is located in North Bay which is a friendly city of 55,000 people about 340 km north of Toronto and 340 km west of Ottawa (the nation’s capital city). The institute provides a variety of sporting, entertainment and cultural events. Students can also opt for different activities available nearby campus like they can take a cruise and enjoy the waterfront, in a concert at the Arts Centre. North Bay has four different seasons, with different activities suitable for each season.

Initial Study Permit

All Canadore College’s College Drive campus students need to have legal status in Canada, and you will need to present your status documents to get your student card. If this is your first time applying for a study permit, you can do it at the nearest Canadian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission. You can apply for your permit as soon as you receive your Offer of Admission from the University of Toronto and decide to accept. Because the permit legally entitles you to study in Canada, you will need it before you enter the country.

Temporary Resident Visa

Students from certain countries may also require an entry visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), to enter Canada. TRVs are issued by Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC).

CIC’s requirements may differ depending on your specific geographic region. For instance, some CIC offices require proof of English language proficiency in the form of a standardized test (such as TOEFL or IELTS). A medical examination and proof of funding may also be required.
